A recent publication   LEGACY OF THE LEPRECHAUN.   ISBN 978-0-950727-1-1

A village mystery set in a fictitious Goyt Valley village near Macclesfield, Cheshire. It tells the story surrounding the drowning of a young farmhand.

The surprise birth of a baby girl after the event causes much speculation, but the mystery remains unsolved for 40 years until the girl is a grown woman and discovers the truth herself

Although Clough Top is fictitious, actual scenes in Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Knutsford and Chester are woven into the story. The Macclesfield scenes include an inquest at the Town Hall and a meeting at a cafe on Mill Street.

My connections with Macclesfield include working at New Playwrights Network where I wrote and edited plays, mainly for the amateur theatre. Later I opened a second-hand bookshop in Buxton. I also spent time in Wilmslow during the war, when I stayed there with an aunt. The book will be of interest to many readers in the area who will enjoy identifying with the scenes as well as trying to solve the mystery.

The fictitious village could not be recognised, but I was inspired when driving into the Goyt Valley from Pym Chair and remembered the river before the reservoir was constructed. These are places I have known and loved for many years
